The Port of Caddo-Bossier will soon be home to Benteler Steel/Tube’s first North American manufacturing facility. At a special event at the Port's Regional Commerce Center, La., Port Commission President Erica Bryant welcomed Benteler and announced that the company will bring an estimated 675 full time jobs, more than 1,000 construction jobs and countless indirect jobs when fully operational. Governor Jindal called the announcement “one of the most significant announcements we’ll make during our entire administration.” Benteler chose Northwestern Louisiana for its talented workforce, welcoming business climate and important geographic proximity to North America’s energy corridor. The mill will produce tubes utilized in the exploration of oil and gas.
