The Port to break ground on Regional Commerce Center
Ground Breaking Slated For Thursday, January 28 For The Port's Regional Commerce Center Facility Designed to Support Regional Economic Development SHREVEPORT/BOSSIER CITY, LA - The official ceremony to break ground for The Port's new Regional Commerce Center will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 28. Speaking at the Ground Breaking will be the President of The Caddo/Bossier Port Commission, James Pannell, Caddo/Bossier Port Commissioner, Jimmy Hall, Mayor Cedric Glover, Mayor Lo Walker, Theodore "Ted" Knight, Executive Assistant for Operations for The Port of New Orleans, Bossier Parish Police Juror, Wanda Bennett and Caddo Commissioner, John Escude. WHAT: Ground Breaking Ceremony for The Port's Regional Commerce Center WHEN: Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 10:30am WHERE: The Port of Shreveport-Bossier. Take the entrance off Doug Attaway Blvd. Parking is available at the dock.
The 2,500-acre Port of Shreveport-Bossier is located at the head of navigation on the Red River Waterway in Northwest Louisiana. An inland multi-modal transportation and distribution center, The Port works hand in hand with the port system of Louisiana to successfully link customers throughout the Ark-La-Tex region to domestic and international markets via the Mississippi River, the nation's largest river system, and the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway.
