- RONPAK CAREER FAIR (10-Aug-11)
Ronpak Inc. held a career fair August 10th at LSU Shreveport as part of the Louisiana FastStart program. It was held in conjunction with the Louisiana Workforce Commission. More than 300 people attended each of the informational sessions all day, filling out applications for employment.
- RONPAK, INC. ANNOUNCES PLANS TO BRING NEARLY 700 JOBS TO THE PORT (28-Jul-11)
On Thursday, July 28, Ronpak, Inc. announced plans to build a manufacturing facility at The Port of Shreveport-Bossier. The plans include 175 direct and nearly 500 indirect jobs for the project. Governor Bobby Jindal was on hand to make the announcement. Ronpak, Inc. services the top fast food restaurants and retail industries in the country.
- MILITARY SHIPS VEHICLES BY BARGE TO INLAND DEPOT (02-Jul-12)
Military vehicles being shipped to Red River Army Depot in East Texas were recently unloaded from an ocean-going ship at the Port of Beaumont TX and lifted onto a barge for inland waterway shipment to the Port of Caddo-Bossier, LA.
- RED RIVERWAY COMMISSION TO PROVIDE $1 MILLION FOR LAND PURCHASE (07-Jun-10)
The Red River Waterway Commission and The Caddo-Bossier Parishes Port Commission entered into a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement today for $1 million to be used for 2010 land purchases. The Caddo-Bossier Parishes Port Commission has determined that for the good of the community, expansion of The Port site is necessary in order to continue attracting businesses and industries and new jobs. In a news conference Monday, June 7, the Caddo-Bossier Parishes Port Commission thanked the Waterway Commission for its unwavering support of economic development.
- PORT COMMISSION REMEMBERS ALONZO JACKSON (17-Jun-10)
The Caddo Bossier Parishes Port Commission remembered Alonzo Jackson, former environmental and safety director at The Port of Shreveport-Bossier. At its June Regular Meeting, Commission President Jimmy Hall presented Mr. Jackson's widow, Anita and their daughter Chelsa with a resolution framed in his honor. View more about Alonzo's life here.

The Official Dedication of the Regional Commerce Center was held at 2 p.m. on March 24 in the Steering Room at the new Regional Commerce Center at 6000 Doug Attaway Blvd. at The Port of Shreveport-Bossier. with the completion and opening of this facility that the Caddo-Bossier Parishes Port Commission has provided our region with a major competitive edge for attracting and retaining industry and jobs.

Friends, tenants and supporters gathered for The Port’s Annual Meeting at Diamond Jacks casino. The night honored Port tenants as well as thanked the Red River Waterway Commission and the public for their support of The Port.

Port Night 2010 was held at the Shreveport Convention Center. The Port highlighted accomplishments in 2009 and looked forward to 2010. The Port recognized the Red River Waterway Commission for its continued support, as well as the tenants and citizens of Caddo and Bossier parishes.
- BENTELER STEEL TUBE SELECTS PORT OF CADDO-BOSSIER TO BUILD $892 MILLION FACILITY (12-Oct-12)
Gov. Bobby Jindal came to the Port of Caddo-Bossier to announce the German-based steel tube manufacturing company, Benteler, has chosen to build an $892 million facility at The Port. The project will create 675 direct jobs.
- REGIONAL COMMERCE CENTER GROUNDBREAKING (28-Jan-10)
The Port broke ground on its state-of-the-art Regional Commerce Center. The 32,000 square foot facility will house The Port's offices, provide meeting space for tenants and business development, as well as house an Emergency Operations Center.
- BARGE TRAFFIC REACHES UNPRECEDENTED LEVEL (20-Jan-12)
The Port of Caddo-Bossier set a record for first month of 2012, moving approximately 70 thousand tons through The Port making January 2012 the largest barge tonnage month in our history.
